Service - Few years back, came to know that Tata Sky is starting its service and Jamshedpur will be given preference. My loyalty is towards Tata brand name, so waited for its service to start.
One good day, a person came to me and introduced himself as Tata Sky marketing officer. He wanted to do a promotional show at our colony club house and me being secretary of association was please to allow them without any charge.
After some time dishes were installed and connection was offered. In the beginning only three or four people took the connection(because of high rates) including me. Things were OK and nothing happened for the entire year, but as soon as my account balance was over and I went for new recharge and making payment, the amount was not credited to my account. But problem was solved in few days.
On 14th of July'09 I logged a complain that even after paying full amount for(including Life style gold) package, few channel are blocked. We were told that recharge has not been made for special package and we should contact the dealer. Dealer is not accepting his fault and I am made to run from customer care to dealer. And today when I wanted to see the response of my on-line complain, I was surprised to see that complain stands closed.(see my photo album for screen shot)
Picture and sound quality - I have not seen or heard other service provider so it seems to be good with my home theater system. But during rain, god, nothing comes on tv. Many times service gets disconnected and we have to switch of the main switch, pull the set top box plug and again make the connection to view the program, why this happens, no explanation given.
Channels - Lots of useless channels in the package and you have to pay extra for prime sports and entertainment channels. No idea about other DTH. Some radio channels were added but now removed.
Subscription charges - Increasing day by day.
Internet service - I was promised that very soon they will also add internet service and that was my main attraction towards this brand, but still waiting.
Final words - Its not a matter of Rs. 450, but I feel they have cheated me and ruining the name of Tata. Would not like to continue, but need to see if my amount can be refunded, otherwise no option but to continue till next recharge.
