Photon a shame to TATA

I am a senior government servant by profession and a nonfiction author, blogger and media management teacher by hobby. Due to the ethics I promoted all my life, I hardly criticize anyone openly, because I feel that criticism never resolves any issue; but I am forced to take the decision to publicly criticize a famous communication brand TATA Photon. My decision took almost a year to materialize because I tried all the levels to get my connection, connectivity, signal strength and service disconnections without any valid reason related problems heard but TATA Teleservices, TATA Indicom and TATA Photon related officials behaved as if they are hardly bothered or affected by public grievances. The only job they are entrusted is probably collecting money.

'Photon' name is wrong

Tata is advertising as if Photon+  has a capability to make you surf the net with jet speed but it's not so. Literally Photon means lightening fast but what I realized during the past one year is that it works okay only at the metros. On some national highways as well, its speed is okay. I experienced the best speed at Mumbai, Kolkata and some parts of Delhi; elsewhere the name Photon itself is a shame. I work at Dehra Dun and hardly get 39% to 43% speed. In remote areas Photon would not work at all. Even in Dehra Dun, which is the State capital of Uttarakhand, I feel depressed if I try to rely on Photon. Despite waiting for hours, I hardly get satisfactory speed or connectivity. You never know when the connection would go dead.

Deaf Ear to Customers

Tata Photon has the worst after sales service, worst customer care and the worst technical assistance. I personally experienced it on various occasions that they never entertain customers properly. I work as OSD to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, and I could have used the other methods but I believe in democracy, so I always tried to get my complaints registered first but they never responded.

I bought my connection from one Manavi Communications, Survey Chowk, Dehra Dun owned by some Mr. Manish Gaira. Whenever I visited them to report loss of signals, connectivity and tried to get the service personnel at my place, they responded that this matter is not looked by them. The boys & girls working there were too busy to attend complaint but attended new bookings well. So after waiting for two moths I complained the issue to Tata Photon Zonal office and was happy to meet one Mr. Nitin there but this gentleman was also of little help because he was depending upon another colleague Mr. Samir Sethi, who was relying upon another good guy Mr. Urmilesh Swami and who was using another technical expert Mr. Vikas Chowhan and who was…the chain was endless and all good men were good for nothing for me. Nobody was in a position to get me any solution. This morning Mr. Samir Sethi phoned me to tell that his superior Mr. Praveen Chauhan, an officer from Meerut will visit Dehra Dun and would review the situation before any decision can be taken.

No Value for Money

I forgot to mention that my Tata Photon+ connection(9258320554) is paid by the government. We also possess two more Photon+ connections. One is used by the Principle Secretary to the Chief Minister, the second one is used by the Director General of Information Department, Uttarakhjand and the third belongs to me. We all experience the same grievances. Get the same treatment of not being heard in case of sudden disconnections.

There have been occasions when Tata personnel asked me, why I am worried about it, since the money is not going from my pocket and invariably I retaliated that its your money too because all government money is public money. It may be possible that such situation is dominant at Uttarakhand only and at some other stations the consumers might be getting good services. What you feel? Which wi-fi network service should I take?
