Tatas have always been excellent everywhere. Tata is a brand of trust. Tatas do business purely on the basis of honesty. I may keep on enumerating the Tata merits and with one conclusion: Statutory Warning: so far there is only one exception, Tata Indicom, despite having there own satellite..
1.Pros First:
The handsets Tata Indicom is offering are of good quality but they don't look good and are bulky also. The reception voice is very clear and almost without ANY disturbance. Your phone always indicate full-bars reception, unlike other services. They have not distributed numerous connections hence the chances of getting a number (if you are lucky enough) are fair, provided you dial ONLY either a Tata, MTNL or BSNL subscriber. Tata Indicom and Tata Walky both are good in another realm: they never bill you inflated bills.
2. Internet Okay:
Tata Indicom may give you two years free incoming. Question is that who will be able to call you? There is hardly any connectivity with any other service providers. If you require the internet connectivity, then its okay.
3. No helpline accessible:
Keep on trying and no one is available to guide you properly. They will keep on telling you what to do. You visit there service centres to find that most of the employees there are busy in other important things like filling their own resumes for monster.com or glued to their cellphones talking to ’some important one’ and waving hands to colleagues. In fact most of them are either lfrom Airtel or from Hutch or from Reliance and repenting that they do'nt have other choice. No complaint registers available.
4.I know this much only:
Insufficient information available about the services, plans and terriffs. You ask someone and she/he will respond a typical,’Sorry...’ (you got it? exactly!!)
I am trying to spare some money to buy one headache, err sorry... I meant Tata Indicom, and then I would write another part of this story: Confessions of a Tata Indicom User.
Note: (fellow reviewers are welcome to lift the idea).
EXACTLY!!
Note: After publishing this review Lucknow based Tata office tried to persue me to withdraw it. They approached me through their field executives and one journalist friend of mine. I did not compromise, but wish to record it also.
