I bought Indica Petrol in March 2002 from Wasan Motors, Chembur; Mumbai. The service at the service station was indifferent and specific problems were ignored or excuses were given. Did my third servicing at Fortune cars Mahalaxmi; the experience was similar.
Meanwhile my silencer stared falling apart in pieces on by one. Two were replaced under warranty. The second being just outside the warranty period required intervention of Consumer guidance society to get Tata motors to cough up the compensation. The problem continues. I have replaced part no. 3 and 4 on my own money, but this time no authorised service station, just the friendly neighbourhood mechanic and country made muffler. It is doing just as well and costs half as much.
Even if it breaks in half the time I am not losing anything. From above experience I have decided to get my car repaired from an ordinary mechanic rather than an authorised service station and to use spurious spares.
The worst part of all this was attitude of Tata motors; who did not reply to any of my communications and paid only after receiving a notice prior to going to consumer court.
Any more such experiences?
