Reason for Choosing Indica: To economise with diesel due to our daily mileage. Excellent warranty option of 18 + 18 Months
Initial Impression: The performance of the vehicle exceeded expectations. The car has a spacious interior, superb road holding at high speeds and has a feel of a car much higher than its class. The best mileage per litre of Diesel was 17 KMPL and the worst was 12.5 KMPL, both with AC. Understand that the mileage improves with time.
Problems: very poor pick up making it dangerous while overtaking in highways, high engine noise, Unsatisfactory AC (Has no Thermostat control either), a lot of squeaking noises and extremely atrocious Pre delivery inspection. The wheel rims of the tyres get damaged frequently on Indian roads, and the Tyre inflation needs to checked everyday as almost 3-4 PSI is lost each day.
Problems with Dealer:
Essentially VST is a truck dealer and has not been able to graduate into selling cars. The car delivered to me was without a Jack Handle and this, unfortunately, I found out on the Chennai- Trichy Highway with my wheel bent on hitting a pot hole! Result- Stranded and left to the mercy of passing cars!
Reached Trichy VST Dealership- They did not have a spare Jack Handle nor did they have a spare jack even against payment! Of course they refused to entertain any claim saying that the car was sold by their chennai office! On calling their chennai office for help, they cooly said- COME BACK TO CHENNAI AND WE SHALL SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE!
However their service manager Mr Senthil sent me in his personal car to try and purchase this from the market in Trichy, Thanks to him we were able to get back to chennai!
