Typical Indian Vendor! They can't do business without monopoly and privileged market!
I recently got Tata-Docomo Broadband connection as I had no other option, in Wagholi area, than the Tata-Docomo!
What I experienced/experiencing:
I paid Rs. 2, 100/- for new connection, with no receipt for the payment, whatsoever, leave alone the bifurcation of the charges!
They came and fitted the connection, with no pre-appointment, directly ringing the door-bell!
The paper they provided after fitting the connection, contains nothing more than the Telephone# (ADSL Line#) and the Account#!
DNS Server, Gateway and other IP addresses and routing information, which is an essential information is NOT provided!
Username and Password for ADSL connection not provided! I had to call and followup n-number of people to get it!
I purchased my own ADSL-modem-cum-Wifi-router, and wanted to configure it to connect to the broadband. When contacted to the customer service, they refused to share any information, about how to log in to their network, like DNS and Gateway IP addresses and necessary routing information, what they are mandated to provide, being an ISP!
They just said, you will need to purchase the WiFi-modem-router from us, and we'll configure it!
This is making it compulsory for me to buy the hardware from them, at premium price, which is available on Flipkart, at cheap price, otherwise! This is Monopoly and is against a Fair Trade Practice! They can't compel me to buy something at higher rates, from them, what otherwise is available cheaper, in the market.
BSNL or any other broadband connection provides you all this connection-information, without you having to ask for it, on the day one, itself!
They did NOT provide any Customer-Care email address! Just the toll-free, phone#, the communication on which can't be tracked and presented as evidence, when I want to sue them!
I did find their customer-care email address, by struggling a lot., but the response time and quality of response is pathetic! They take 3 or more working days to reply you! And seemingly the replies are stereo-typed, just copy/pasting of the FAQs, with no effort to read and understand the issue!(I guess, Rs.10/hour cheap call-center workers!)
Speed is not at all what they boast/commit!
Dependability is just absent! You have to be lucky to get on to their network, and thus having the internet-connectivity.
I guess, Docomo should separate themselves from Tata, to avoid all these malpractices in business and let Indians experience the World-Class product and services, along with transparency and truly dynamic market, with no monopolies! This will avoid defaming their Docomo brand, in India, with Indian partner!
In three words, "Bad", "Bad", "Bad"
I'm awaiting another ISP in Wagholi, and would be happy to pay twice as much for the same service, to have the transparency and fairness in dealing! I really hate that exploitation/cheating feeling given by vendors to their customers!
