I have been a regular at this place having get togethers with college friends every quarter. We like the place and that is why we keep coming back to this, but there is this issue that I have been seeing that is making me think about the decision. When you ask for the bill, they will bring in the bill and show you the food and the service charges. Well I have no issues paying the service charges and always pay them without a concern. But just before you are about the pay, they ask you that you can settle the food bill and pay the service charge as a tip seperately. No one will have an issue with this. When you ask them to go ahead, they will bring in another bill with just the food charges. The tip they will ask you to pay via either cash or UPI only. Last time they did it, i did not pay attention, but this time when they did it i realized they were basically trying to cut down their invoice amount and keep the books low. This way the forced tips don't show up anywhere. What made it worse is that they refused to accept the payment of food bill via Zomato pay or swiggy dineout (unlike last time) where they were clearly listed thus denying me my booking benefits and card discounts. This is another way of cutting down commissions and keeping up as much for themselves. When I asked them why are you listed on the platforms then, they said we have asked them to remove us long back but they haven't. Well I dint mind losing the discount on the app because the amount was trivial. However I was uncomfortable because they lied for such a trivial thing. We kept coming back because we felt this place is decent and we had some kind of connection with the place, however the fact that the management decides to use trivial lies and silly tricks to pocket more and more and prioritize sheer greed over building trust just pisses me off.
