I haven't forgotten the child in me, even after all these years, I could still relate to the kid and his brother in my own way. Being a pretty good student, I was sometimes punished and sent to kneel outside. But there were other kids, whose faces were a regular for those who passed by our classes, these kids, were mischievious, but it also included those kids who just couldn't get themselves to understand the subject taught. And this movie talks about these kids, and their disorder in the most loving way possible and it helps them face the world, by looking at it, right in the eye.

Taare Zameen Par, is a movie about a dyslexic boy, who looks like he's our lil Calvin but without Hobbes to understand this complex world of studies. But is an excellent subject of Life. He loves everything he sees, such innocence which can be pardoned only to a child. He is the youngest son in his family, and his brother is the top ranker. There is this adulation for his brother in the eyes of this young one.  The only thing thats a problem in this one's life is learning. He does not understand letters, he finds that his letters are dancing, becasue that is how the Dyslexic child will see a sentence, comprehending a sentence is just as difficult, but Aamir Khan a wonderful teacher who makes an entry in the other half, shows this child, that there is hope. He gives examples of  Albert Einstein and Abhishek Bachchan who just like him, faced difficulty in their studies, but grew up to be one of the famous people of today.

This movie, has some brilliantly convincing dialogues. It takes us off on a journey of the child, the way he sees the world. The ripples of a puddle, to the beauty of a view of bombay sealine, to the amusement of the guy who comes at our doorstep to knead our beds, the strumming of his instrument, to the excitement of the first seat on a BEST double decker, wind gushing at 40mph, as we look at the world with pride. We become kings, for a journey's while. He sees things we don't. His understanding, is far more philosophical and more simple, and unhibited are his thoughts. For a dyslexic, he was never understood by his father, who expects him to top his exams, and never saw that he can be good at something, what if he's not good at studies.

Aamir Khan and Amole Gupte have been absolutely smart in picking at this problem that is in fact prevalent in the society of a country, who knows that life is difficult and competitive now, and that children will face stiff employment opportunities if they don't study well now. It gives an idea to those parents, of how and why they should love their children the way they are, because kids nowadays committ suicide because of poor rankings and failure reports. This movies tries to target parents in a way that no movie has EVER been able to do.

Each and everyone of us has experienced what this boy goes through in this movie, or we know of some close family member who has. But the beauty of this is, how we tackled it in our life. And how this movie went about it. Aamir Khan, a teacher, who is the guardian angel for this child. Not many will have him, but at least the parents can definitely do a good job of being the best guardians their son/daughter who is poor at studies, could have. They could be happy to know that even if they dont score so well at studies, they do stand a chance of being a fashion designer, a painter, a karate expert or an athlete, in the world of today, there are amazing opportunities, So its not just studies, the parents need to worry about. They also need to worry about how the children are going to look upto their parents. With scared eyes or with love that knows no bounds?
