I used to "love" the Google(or the android stock) keyboard and kept using the same on my OnePLus One instead of the pre-installed SwiftKey. But as the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat, this time curiosity killed my interest in Google's keyboard.
Set it as my default keyboard with the "Pumpkin" theme and after using it for few days, it started predicting easing up my work a lot. The more frequently you use a word, the more prominently it would come. Type a sentence once and you can complete it almost entirely without typing, just by the help of predicted words, onward. It also saves the multiple email IDs and numbers you have typed. Next time you need to enter your email ID somewhere, it would pop up in the suggestions. even before you start typing.
Emojis are readily available as shortcuts and so are the commonly used punctuation marks. Switching to languages is instant, all you need is a swipe on the Space button. Single handed layouts are also available and lots of themes out there in the store to suit your visual appeal.
While typing is great, swiping doesn't work good. It forms the word correctly but the keyboard freezes(the prediction area goes blank) for a moment upon finishing the swipe. Its probably because of low RAM available. It uses up a lot of memory and the app itself is big compared to other keyboards. The only drawback I have found until now.
Plus, hand writing recognition and voice typing could have been an added advantage. And not to forget, the GIF is a necessity these days. Making it inbuilt would be great, obviously cloud stored. Storing it offline, would only increase the size of the app.
