Home Sweet Home !!! gives such an amazing feeling…
A home at the sea shore or a home amidst snow clad mountains with green landscapes, colourful flowers (remember the abode of our superhero “Krrish” ) etc… Who would not want such a home…a dream home ? Swapnakoodu means a dream home, if we translate it by word to word to English.
About the film :
Three friends come to Pondicherry to study hotel management. Each one different from the other and perhaps their different personalities kept them bonded. Due to their frequent goof-ups they get thrown out by their landlords. Through a local friend, they finally get their rented abode. The so called abode seems perfect and turns out to be the “Swapnakoodu” for this trio as the landlady as two young, beautiful daughters. Elder one is a florist and younger is a student. All the three fall for the elder one, finally one of them back out as he is forced to become her rakhi brother. Remaining two battle out for their lady love in their own ways. Finally love bows down before friendship and the lady love is on the verge of loosing her love and has nobody to lean upon as amidst all these, the story snatches away her mother and her younger sister. Who gets the lady love ? please run into the theatres for more details…..
About the Characters :
The three friends :
Kunjhu played by Prithviraj, the younger son of veteran actor of Malayalam Cinema, Sukumaran, has a complete ball in this movie as he is shown girl chasing and is a hard core flirt. He was convincing and has done his part well as a Casanova in the first half and has emoted well as the film progresses and reaches its climax.
Deepu played by Kunjhako Bobban, the cute lover boy of Malayalam Cinema, is the serious and a mama’s boy in this movie. He too has been efficient in portraying his character well. As the film progresses, we can see his character maturing and backing out from his love as he weighs friendship more than love. He has expressed his silent love beautifully through his eyes. He has to be watched in this movie as his performance touches you.
Ashta Murthy played by Jayasuriya, the latest entrant to the Malayalam Film Industry, is the surprise package in the movie. This comedian cum hero becomes the rakhi brother of the heroine unwillingly as he is coaxed to do by his friends. All the while he makes you laugh with his foolish jokes. We can see him laughing when his friends are happy and sad when his friends drift apart. In the end, he bridges the gap between his friends.
The two young beautiful & smart daughters :
Kamala played by the beautiful Meera Jasmine, a talented and a wonderful actress of the Malayalam Film Industry. The story revolves around her character. At the start, she plays a easy going girl who sells flowers for living and mid way we see her getting responsible as her mother dies and towards the end we can see her heart broken as she has lost her only younger sister and also her love. She has been the best at every emotion. Deep within our heart, we feel her pain.
The younger sister is played by Bhavna who have just entered the Malayalam movies. She is cute. She has all the innocence, normally the little sisters have. Eventually when she goes, she takes your breath away. You got to see it to feel it.
Behind the Scenes :
Director: Kamal
Music: Mohan Sithara
Lyrics:Kaithapram Damodaran Nampoothiri
Music & Songs :
The musical package consists of soft romantic melodies combined with foot tapping numbers. One of the songs that I have loved is “Maya Sandhya”. It is high on notes and as well as emotional and is one of the important aspect of the film. One of the most important developments occur in this song. So watch it..
From the Seats :
Complete Entertainment with all the right amount of laughter and sadness. Personally I have enjoyed the movie as I am a fan of Meera Jasmine. If Meera Jasmine is paired opposite 3 heart throbs of the Malayalam Film Industry, then can anybody ask for anything more ? Moreover it was a young movie. Sometimes wonder, Is Pondicherry this beautiful. Got to go there once to feel the essence of the movie.
My suggestion : Please watch the movie… and ho sake to visit Pondicherry…to get lost in all those wide long seashores…blue waters … etc...
