Today AR Rahman hindi music is taking us to 1940's - 1970's. Why I am saying this was that the songs in Lagaan, Meenaxi, Tehzeeb, The Legend Of Bhagat Singh and now Swades are slow tracks with few instruments. The fact was that in 90's rahman composed the music only for making them as the hit one. But after 2k he does songs as film oriented. The above was the review of AR Rahman in short. Now let us see the Swades review.

FILM : SWADES

DIRECTOR: Ashuytosh Gowarikar

LYRICS : Javed Akthar MUSIC :

A.R Rahman SONGS : 7

INSTRUMENTALS:2

1)Yeh Tara who tara Singers : Udit narayan, master vignesh, baby pooja& kids. I listened the song many times. It starts with a new loop which is never heard before. The song is very mild.the flute used by naveen in the middle is fantastic. The voice of kids are good and a digitalised voice saying ''yeh tara woh tara'' is cute. MY Mark: 8/10

2)Sawnwariya Singer : Alka Yagnik The song is very slow whick makes us feel sleepy but really a good one. The loops and hummings are typical rahmanian. Alka Yagnik has done good. I think the fans would like this song. I recommend this song for only those who are interested in slow music. MY Mark : 8/10

3)Yun Hi chala chal Singers: Udit Narayan, Hariharan, Kailash Kher I like the song only few much because it is nothing new to us. An usual song. A usual humming.a usual music. The only fast music in this album. MY Marks : 5/10

4)Ahishta Ahishta Singers: Udit Narayanan, Sadhana Sargam This is a sad song.Any way I liked it very much.no one could give sad songs like AR Rahman. Really wonderful. When I heared this song I found some similarities. The song was very similar to 'yetho yetho' of Enakku 20 Unakku 18 and 'udhaya udhaya' of udhaya.sitar and guiter are used perfectly. MY Mark : 9/10

5)Yeh jo des hai teraa Singer: The Composer This song starts with vocals 'yoh yoh' and a background music which continues till the end of the song.Really a pleasent song.AR Rahman has sung the song nicely and it is very soothing. The best song of the album. MY Mark : 9.5/10(for AR Rahman)

6)Pal Pal Bahari Singer : Madhusree, Vijar Prakash, Asutosh Gowariker The song is hindustani based.the instrument called 'UDUK'(in tamil) is used at the end of the song. It's like a bajjan.A gift for hindustani lovers. My Mark :8/10

7)Dekho na Singer : Alka Yagnik & Udit Narayan A remake song of 'baba kichu' of BABA. Though the background music are different.I think the song is little slower than BaBa.. My mark:7.5/10

8)Pal Pal hai bhaarii Instrument:Flute MY Mark:8.5/10 9)Yeh jo des hai teraa Instrument:Shenai MY Mark:9/10(for new work)
