Let?s start with the music album cover. Surprisingly T-Series have done a great job, the flap contains 14 Stills. Shah Rukh is shown traveling in air, train, bus, Scooter, boat and also Gayathri joshi looking very decent in salwars.
And big shocking news, it contains lyrics in Hindi? T-Series have done their part and quality also decent one?
Now its upto A R Rahman and Ashutosh to deliver the goods.
Swades contains 7 songs and 2 instrumentals?Mind you A R Raman fans will get disappointed hearing theDekho na song?A RUDE SHOCK experessed by a fellow ARR fan?
Now, the songs on first hearing I didn?t like it?thus we can conclude rahman has tried something different?it takes time to digest different things?
I didn?t like Taal Lagaan Dil Se Alaipayuthey when I heard for the first time?But on repeated hearing they have become an integral part of my life?
Okay without wasting much time I will give a brief description of the songs?

Udit narayan, master vignesh, baby pooja& kids
I have been hearing this songs for the past 15 days and I really love this song?I am no great admirer of Shah Rukh but mind you he has given his everything in this song , I have never seen him performing so well?choreography by Bosco-Cesar.
The tune is very mild and melodious a pucca a r rahman song?He has composed with ease, a simple and beautiful tune will be liked by all.
Whatz interesting to note is the loops he has used in this song?He normally used beep loops but I think this one is something different?Flute by naveen bass dholaks by lakshmi narayana is cute?
Udit, as usual, is briiliant I feel it is his year?he is boung to win awards though not for this one?
The songs gains momentum by use of tabla and dholak by Prasad and neelakantan.
Master vignesh and baby pooja have done their job quite well, but pooja?s voice is digitalized.

Beep loops?it seems rahman will never leave it?he has been using these kinds of loops for last 2 years.
Aashista is again another melody in this album but is too slow since it seems to be a sad song?This one is surely to be skipped by all initially, it will take atleast 5 to 6 hearing to get used to it.
Positive aspect of this track is the Sitar by janardhan and bass guitarby keith peters sound and the song ends very well with mix of sitar and flute.
Udit and Sadhna are at ease singing this song?overall a good track..

A R Rahman always keeps the best tracks for himself?this one is no doubt the best track of the album?infact song of the year?
The song starts with hoi hoi chorus which is used as loops in this song?He voice is so different, so soothing he is tremendous and no one else can render this song with such perfection.
The tune is very mild, beautiful melody it takes back to golden days of rahman, the time he arrived in the music scene.
Highlight of the songs is use of shenai by madhu..nice to hear?
This song will be loved by each and every Indian but this song suits more to the NRI .A patriotic song in a melodious tune represting modern India?This song will make NRI?s yearn for home..Javed akthar is at ease writing these kinda lyrics?sample this

Another radha kaise naa jale in making?? A different track?I am sure you will smile hearing this track for the first time..Its too Hindustani based..But wait..
The lines baje satya ka damka, jale paap ki lanka sound like a song from NEW composed by ARR.. ?is everybody ready? right???
Yeah these lines are really very funky?
The concept of this song is that Sita is abducted by ravana and sita hopes ram will save her but ravan thinks otherwise telling her why think of ram he aint come, why the hell is ram better than me??
A lovable track..i really love this track a very nice experimentation rather than OUDATED stuffs in Veer Zaara.
Madhushree sounds like Alka, does a fantastic renderation and well supported by Ashotosh and Vijay?Lyrics are of top Class..Believe me Lyrics are too good?

A shocker of a song?infact it?s a RUDE SHOCK as mentioned by a fellow rahman fan?I am also very disappointed?not that the tune is bad or copied but alas its same as BABA kichu kichu tha..lol..from the tamil film, thailaivar?s BABA composed by ARR himself.
Though the tune is same they arrangements are totally different..this one is more mild and soft than the original one where heavy metal guitars were used?
Alka and Udit are very soft, surprisingly the lyrics fit very well..no regrets on that?
I feel Mumbai audience will like this song?There is lots of bass and guitar?

The tune is same as Yeh jo des song?I wonder why shenai is used..i don?t like shenai tat much?Could have used flute?anyways this one is a shortened version and lacks magic compared with the original one?Anyways it?s a bonus instrumental to us..

This one is again instrumental version of Pal Pal song?Naveen at his best..this one is better compared to Shenai instrumental?All said I would have liked to have a Swades theme music rather than song instrumentals?
