I ask myself- Did Swades come up to my expectations? The answer is-YES!!!!!!!! Its been ages since we have come across a really good movie made both for the rural population and also the urban. Swades is a movie that will satisfy all the classes of the society. I think it would be a waste of time if I start explaining the plot, because most of you must be knowing about it already. But still, for those who still don?t know about it I?ll just tell you the basic theme. Swades revolves around the life of Mohan Bhargava, a project manager in the NASA. He comes back to India after about 12 years to meet his Kaveri amma . He also meets Geeta, his childhood friend and falls in love with her. He is shocked to see the state of his country today, when the rest of the world has progressed so much. He tries to work for the welfare of his country and gets attached to his country, his Swades. He realizes his responsibilities, but duty calls. What does he do? How does he cope up with such circumstances? The plot seems simple but is not. It has been dealt with utmost sensitivity and giving it an Indian resonance. My views about the cast and crew are written in the letters that follow, which I wish would reach them. They are simple letters of appreciation but I really hope they read it one day. 1. Respected Aushitosh Gowarikar,I first thought of writing dear while addressing you, but I wrote respected because I have really started respecting you after watching Swades. Your hard work, your efforts and the sensitivity can be very well seen in the movie. The noble cause of making this film is conveyed beautifully. You are one of the rare directors who have used the other abilities of ShahRukh Khan, apart from his crying abilities. You have managed to extract the best from each and every person in your team. The experience of watching the movie was itself a treat. Great job. Swades touched my heart .Hats off to you. 2. Dear Shah Rukh, Its been great to see that you have not over acted since KHNH. You have really given your best in this movie, specially the expression you gave in the scene when you are in the flight, returning to India after about 12 years. It was simply superb! Even your worst and harshest critics will have to appreciate your performance in this flick. All the sincerity can be seen in your face. And I must tell you, you really look young in this film. I was always your fan, right from fauji, but now I am your AC!!!!!!! 3. Dear Swades crew,I?m sorry I couldn?t fetch your names, but this letter is for all of you. The cinematography was amazingly real and added flavor to the movie. The background score kept the movie going even when it seems a bit boring. The dialogues were splendid, written out of heart, and help the movie from becoming superficial. The editing was crisp, but surely could have been better. The side characters also gave a great performance. The music was also great. It had to be, after all, it was by the maestro himself, A.R Rahman. Great job guys!___________________________________________________________________ You can expect everything from swades, which you expect from a good, sensible film[except skin and action]. The only drawback is that its not very gripping, but you can surely watch for certain scenes, that really manage to touch hearts. WATCH OUT FOR:- ?The rocket launching scene. ?The scene when SRK goes to a farmer?s house. ?The scene when Mohan says that India is still not ?mahaan? as we believe it to be. Swades is worth being a super hit, but not many may feel so. If you don?t take it as a documentary, you are sure to love it. Go watch it, it?s a wonderful experience. Comments are welcome[wanted]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
