U know why korean film are so popular in korea and getting more and more famous around the globe,
I tell u why, Korean cinema is not all about being "pseudo-western", its not about copying hollywood, its not about unnecessary talk about wut fashion the stars wear. Korea is so true to its own identity, so koreans as well as other nations like their films.
Nowadays bollywood is family business, there r so many film I switched off after 10 or 20 Minutes, Om shanti Om Sawriya and Dhoom 2 are just few of those.
But definetly I liked some very much like Omkara, Namastey London, Black and White, Tare Zameen par, or this one Superstar.
Kunal is definetly a very talented actor, otherwise supertsar was not possible.
the film has all the qualities a "Desi" film but also a good film should have.
NAmely, a good story, realistic sets, very natural co actors or actresses ( since Dhoka I really am a fan of Tulip Joshi ) like Tulip Joshi as Mausam who plays the silent lover of Kunal or Reema Lagoo, who is Kunals mother in the movie and Sharat Saxena, one of my most favortie old timer as Kunals father.
As some of u know I never reveal the plot so thatswhy u are not reading any single word of it,
But I can reveal other things like THIS FILM IS REALLY A VISUAL TREAT, directing and cinematography are superb as is the cast`s performance.
This film is not only entertaining but also meaningful and has a nice message and some real touchy moments. It is very good quality desi entertainment. GO FOR IT.
What makes me sad is that such a good film does not really get the Wows and PROPS it deserves whereas films like Om shanti Om or Dhoom 2 can get so successful though they r totally crapp...
Okay love me or hate me ;)
