Reliance Retail Management:

Yesterday I had been to one of their outlets to redeem my bonus points.  First of all I was shocked that conversion value has been reduced from Rs 1/- per point to 70 np per point.   The counter sales staff checked the credit balance which was 312 points, and it was a logical step for her to make a voucher for redemption.  I was surprised she did not even bother to ask me or guide me regarding the same.

We were busy shopping and our billing for the various purchases came to around 392 bucks.  I thought I will redeem the bonus points and adjust Rs 200/- odd against my purchases.  The earlier system was to adjust the bonus points online.  But now they have added manual preparation of voucher, which seems ridiculous waste of time.  The counter girl was missing and later when I started pressurizing, that the credit balance one sales boy came and gave me the news that printer is out of order.  I advised them to make manual entry and rectify the balancing in the night.  To my shock I did not get the voucher and I had to pay up full cash.  It is real height of mismanagement.  I am wondering how many blunders they are committing to beaureacratic set up.  The procedures are worse than govt. office.

Another shocking development is that some staff member or company officials were at the counter ripping open the promotional pack of 3 Sunfeast and arranging it as single pack.  It is obvious that promotion pack will be cheaper and individual pack will be costly to the customer.  Such blatant manipulation, with recording of the same on cellphone camera is such a shocker.  If at they want to alter the packs, they could have taken the same into their warehouse and made the changes.  In order to set right the procedures it does not require highly paid executives but simple common sense.  I hope the Reliance management takes a note to perk up their systems to be consumer friendly.
