This movie is based on real story of life of India’s renowned mathematician, Anand Kumar based on his real life incidents and deprived dream follows his true calling and gives shape to ‘Super 30’ – a coaching class in Patna, aimed for 30 deserving, underprivileged students who are aspiring to get admission into coveted institutions like IIT. The journey of building, igniting and building confidence among these socially backward class is not without challenges and life threatening incidents, which is well apprehended by the cast. The movie is really inspiring and the following are what I believe the movie teaches all about.
1. Is Education fair in India?
Does the education system is fair in India from the epic period? The movie narrates the incident from epic Mahabartha make you think about unfair practices over the period of time. With education becoming business, many will be deprived. Eklavya was the son of a poor hunter, practices and masters archery and becomes the best archer. However royal family had the best resources to master archery. The story ends with Eklavya, gives his thumb as guru dakshina to Dronacharya. The thought is even today, many of the elite has the access to best of the resources for education however many of the talented poor kids from the social economical class are deprived.
2. Are we killing the instinct of the Deprived class to make a difference?
Making education unaffordable to deprived class may kill the instinct of bringing change to the society. Its common that doctors children becomes doctor, however many of these rich kids opt specialist on easy and faster return. Since the poor kids know the difficulty and pain of not getting medical assistance, would work hard to bring difference, ensuring there availability whenever there is necessity. The deprived also ready to work voluntarily for social causes providing critical care to the community.
3. Covert Shame into pride to build confidence.
Many get discouraged and their confidence level goes down looking at the dressing and attire of the kids from well to do family. Many of the times, there are embarrassing situation in front of them, however the movie provides that determination is key to build confidence.
4. Visualization is Key and it is unrestricted.
Visualization and imagination is key for success. To change the behaviour and to build confidence visualization becomes very important. It helps to identify the areas where one needs to improvement and some key strength.
5. It’s the necessity that can bring Innovation or Improvement.
The movie shows basic of lessons physics, chemistry and maths is used to
6. Threat cannot be avoided:
Education is business and parents are ready to pay hefty to secure that their wards get into best institute. When you want to change the system, you are threatened, humiliated and need to risk your life as powerful will not like this.
Overall the movie is really inspiring, with moist eyes and at times gives goose pimps. Thanks to the director and cast to carving this beautiful story of a noble personality. The sorry part of the story is even after doing good to the society and wining the prestigious national award, the selfless person has to be cautious all the time and threats of death.
A good teacher can not only ignite minds and inspire – but also transform the family and society.
A must watch inspiring movie….
