I have recently developed a love - hate relationship with pasta. A few months back I had tried Pasta with pesto sauce & garlic bread in an Italian restaurant & ever since then I was in love with pasta.
Whenever my colleagues used to ask me "aaj kya plans hai ?"
I would immediately say "haan pasta khane jate hai" & they would look at me with grumpy faces & I would get the hint & keep my mouthshut. I cant have my way all the time , I have to respect their opinions too , hence I went on a hunting spree for pasta which can be made at home. And that is how I discovered sunfeast pasta. I have never tried a sunfeast product (not that I hate this brand , but I always preferred britania or parle biscuits) , so I was a bit reluctant at first but my love for pasta made me buy that product (cheese flavour) & I was happy about the fact that it was instant pasta & wouldnt take much effort to cook.So I ripped off the contents & followed the instructions one by one & it was ready within 15 mins.
But I didnt really like the taste. At first I liked the taste , it was kinda different , but after eating 5 - 6 spoons I decided its not meant for my tastebuds. It might suit some people , but not everyone. It was kinda bland , the saucemaker was not enough & also the cooking time was more then what was mentioned on the packet. I thought it would make for a scrumptious meal but I was wrong.
*Just for some information on this product:
It comes in 4 different flavours cheese , onion , cheese tomato & plain.
It is made of whole wheat flour which is much better then refined flour as it has more nutrititve value & more fibre. Hence after eating it you feel more full as fibre is bulky & hence it helps in reducing weight.
It contains 292.7 kcalories , 10.6 grams protein , 59.2g cho , 4.3g fibre & 1.5g fat.
If you dont like this pasta you can try the pasta sauce which is available in supemarkets. You can make it according to the Indian taste. Add a bit of onions , capsicums , sweet corn to the oil. Stir for 2 - 3 mins. Add the sauce . Stir for 2 - 3 mins. Add the drained pasta(remember to cook in hot water for 10 - 15 mins till they become soft) , salt & bit of turmeric powder & stir for 4 - 5 mins. You can also add ketchup to get a tangy taste. I am sure you will like this one.
*In short sunfeast pasta may be suitable for some people (specially bachelors since it is easy to cook) , while others may not find it appealing at all.
Try at your own risk !*
