I opened my SBI account six months back because I had to produce a Demand Draft from a Nationalised Bank. My home Branch is Vile Parle. To be honest, this branch lacks the customer service. The speed of service is very very slow.
I often avoided going to this bank and preferred only if there was a compulsion. Then after three months or so, the bank got renovated. And everything changed. No, not the staff and their services but the infrastructure and the Banking procedures.
The bank has now opened up an ATM which not only supports cash withdrawal but also cash deposit and many other features. It also has a passbook printing machine called as Swayam which is very easy to operate. The best thing is all these transactions and passbook printing is operated 24X7 Now there is no need to enter into the bank for transactions and wait for hours in queues(yes, their service is that slow!) So process is made simpler. Thanks to Digital India initiative.
