State bank of India is largest bank of India. It has most number of customers, branches, atm, and revenue in compare of other banks.
It gives the facility of phone banking to its users. For using this facility one have to register themselves and create their id and password. This feature can be used only on registered phone number. This feature provides user to access their account details like balance and last transactions directly from phone. Now one can also transfer money to others using ussd code.
Now I live in delhi. And also every where I goes till now I found sbi atm there more easily in comparison of other atm. Also according to data sbi has a large number of atm networks. Also now it has been merged with its five associate banks and mahila bank so now its network has been even larger.
It also gives internet banking facility to its users. By which a customer can check their account details transact anywhere, transfer funds, and even apply to loan and open rd account. Specially for me it has been very useful.
Its customer service is also very good. Every time I contacted them om their toll free number I got my problem solved with full satisfaction. so for me it is also good.
Despite of these functions it has some major problems. Like if I forget atm pin or internet banking password I have to go to my home branch for its recovery. For me it is a negative thing as I live 1000 km away from home branch and I can not simply go. The fact is that the bank staff also do not solve problems in a day. Whenever I go to bank they take minimum 5-6 days.
Also now the bank has increased its minimum balance from 500 to 2000. Which means if 2000 is not in my account I have to pay fine. Or 2000 is always stuck. And for the persons like me it matters very much.
So I am giving it 3 stars only and not recommending others to open account in it.
