I have been a credit card member of Standard Chartered Bank since 12 years and have experienced several fraudulent act of them, but yet continued to be a potential customer to Standard Chartered Bank. Now I have communicated to them informing upon my decision on not to continue with the credit card and asked them to revert on the total outstanding on card and for cancellation of same.
Upon hearing from them from Mumbai, and confirming the procedure by SCB branch Manager, Vadodara branch, I have remmitted the amount at SCB vadodara branch. I have deposited the entire amount as per their claim and not even questioned about calculation authenticity, but after a week they have contacted us and asked to deposit some more amount along with interest. This was not appropriate for SCB to claim additional amount for no reasons.
I have send several mail to Standard Chartered Bank HQ, Banking Ombudsman -RBI Ahmedabad and Head-Customer Care, Bangalore pertaining same asking them to look in to the matter and expressing my displeasure on SCB act towards a trusted customer for more than 12 years.
This week, they have contacted us and informed that the calculation made by them was wrong and SCB has over charged me and willing to refund the same, but adusting in monthly statement. When I do not wish to be associated further with SCB, why they are not refunding the amount? Why they claimed for additional payment from me?. Why they are not closing my account?.
I have received a mail from them yesterday, which I'm attaching herewith for your reference. Even now, they are not accepting their mistake. What a disgraceful banking by a foreign bank in Indian Soil where we Indians are looted day by day. Standard Chartered Bank performance across the world is very poor and its survival is only because of its operations from India. It categorically proves that we are made scapegoats.- SCB can fool us and happly survive in India.
