Every credit card has the Pros and cons.....
Few Days back I applied to Citibank credit card along with Standard Chartered Bank's(SCB) credit card.
Verification on application
Standard chartered verification is very much customer focussed. All the visits done by marketing person and cross verified with telephone calls. The person on visit is very much cooperative. Complete transparency is available with the marketing person on behalf of SCB, as if one feels employee of SCB has done the visit. This process has developed more richness in SCB Credit card. I am able to get the SCB International valid credit card with les difficulty.
While in case of Citibank, the process is rigid and lot of transparency is not available between the marketing person and the Citibank officials. My application was not processed properly, with the apologise letter from the Chennai office about non-issue of credit card.
Pros of SCB card
1.On application SCB sends the person and issues receipt of application.
2.Every visit of marketing person has a proper form filled with the information and duly signed as a part of verification.
3.Credit limit is 50 days as compared to ICICI card having 45 days
4.Road Accident Insurance covered is 2.5Lacs
Cons of SCB card
SCB awards 1 reward point for every 125Rs. of spent through the card, while ICICI credit card awards one point for every hundreds rupee spent.
Marketing od SCB is not meeting the initial promises.
