This is on behalf of Mr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta whose case I am representing in the Consumer District Redressal Forum.

Case 1.

The Complainant is a gold card holder. One day he gets a letter from SCB informing him that as a added value benefit he will be covered in case of loss bagage, passport etc. In the year 2002 Mr. Rakesh lost his baggage on his way to Washington. He submitted all documents in original to the insurance company except the airline certificate which the airlines issue only after exhausting all means to locate the baggage, which normally takes about 6 to 8 months. A claim of Rs. 1.20 lakh has been filed on behalf of Mr. Rakesh K Gupta by me who represents International Consumer Rights Protection Council. SCB says that the complainant should have submitted all documents including the Airline Certificate within 14 days according to the policy.

My contention is that the agreement was undertaken between SCB and the Insurance Co. i.e. Royal Sundaram Alliance, chennai. No policy copy was ever given to the complainant. The complainant has been corresponding with SCB since 2 years and he is still not compensated till I stepped inn. There is a delay in getting the Airline Certificate and that the Complainant cannot be held responsible. SCB has adopted such practice and fail to honour their commitments. The matter is in the Consumer Court. SCB has simply failed to honour their commitments given to their esteem Clients. The general Public should be cautious when dealing with Standard Chartered Bank.

I would really appreciate if you give a rating. It will be an acknowledgement of my Social work, which is a passion for me. Thanks!!!!!!
