Srisailam Dam - It was constructed on the river of Krishna in Srisailam under chittoor district, which separated telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Earlier Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru put inaugurating pooja stone for start the construction of Dam. It was completed in the decade of 1980's. Recently the name of Dam was changes as Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy Sagar Project. The length of Dam is approximately 500 meters and having 12 gates. The main purpose for constructing this big Dam is to give water to the agriculture purpose. I have gone to Srisailam some years back. It is wonderful nice tourist spot. A road was also made on the project which goes to Hyderabad, but no body allowed without permission. Earlier all public allowed on Dam road but now due to security reasons they are not allowing. But I have visited the Dam very closely just beside the gates of the Dam. I really feel so happy and a little bit afraid when I saw the Dam closely. This is un-memorable experience in my life to view the big Dam. Especially at the time of Sun set we can enjoy more. The Dam can be visible for both sides. There is a hydra power electricity generation unit situated at very low level of the earth. When I was visiting there is plenty of water and releasing through 5 gates to out side. But now the upper state of Karnataka is not sending the water and no sufficient water in Srisailam Dam. Finally it is no doubt in saying, wonderful Dam and best tourist spot for people.
