I have gone to Srisailam few times from my childhood days for darshan of Lord Shiva become as Sri Mallikarjuna, resided in Srisailam near Krishna river in the State of Andhra Pradesh. This is second jyotirlingam temple among 12 jyotirlingams in India. It is located on flat hill top which gives mental peace due to pleasant atmosphere for devotees. It is very big temple and very ancient famous temple. Generally darshan for Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy will take 3 to 5 hours. At the time of Mahasivaratri the darshan may take huge hours of time. We can see huge crowd in ques for darshan. The boundary walls are full of rich display of cultural and traditional art work which gives peace. The devastanam trust provides free darshan and paid darshan which will be completed with in 2 hours. At the time of Mahasivaratri, the accommodation also not available. I can say that the devotees should book the tickets of seva through online in advance and also as well as booking rooms in advance.
In Srisailam so many cottages are existed based on the each cast with provision of free food. Some hotels also constructed to face the huge crowds who coming for darshan of Lord Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy. The mobile phones and cameras are not allowed inside the temple due to security reasons. There are separate counters available for securing mobile phones, cameras, luggage bags and footwear etc. In the temple pulihora, pongal, laddu, vada and gare prasadams will be provided on few cost. After darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy please look idols around the temple before go for darshan of Ammavari temple. Every Hindu must visit this holy place which gives confidence, peace, and happiness in our life.
