Problematic Phone. Review on Spice D6666

Dual sim phone, and moreover witha choice whether you want to use both sims of GSM network or one of GSM and oneof CDMA. This was the first appealing thing of this phone for me and I boughtit. But I am very dissatisfied with this phone, why? Read on…

There are two most problematicthings I am facing with this phone:when I try to make a call, it hangs quite frequently and on screen shows that Master/Slave sim dialing and after pressing the ‘call end button’ it displays the ‘End calling’ with ‘moving sand clock’ and seems like it is ending the call but this process continues until the phone is made switched off forcefully.

It’s a very annoying thing because if you are trying to make some urgent call, you will have to first switch off and then switch on the phone first.It itself calls to any number from the calls history and you will not be able to know this act of this phone until you get a call back from the number called. It has happened seven times within a span of three months. Most interesting thing is that this type of calls will not be seen in dialed numbers list of this phone and I believed about this only when I saw my phone number in the list of received calls of my friend’s phone to whom my phone had called at midnight without leaving any proof of calling in its dialed list. Its very dangerous thing, isn’t it?

Now about some more problems:

If you send a sms from Slave sim ( slave sim is secondary sim in this phone which may be gsm as well as cdma depending on your choice) you will not get its delivery report as there is no option in this phone to get delivery report of sms sent using slave sim.

Also, in case of Master sim, delivery report pops up on the screen and it is notstored in inbox (in my another phone nokia 6681 it goes in inbox).Pressing call button, all history of calls (dialed, received, missed) is available in case of master sim but in case of slave sim only dialed list is available. So for dialing a missed call number you have to go to call history through menu.If you want to use phone for internet also, its very bad phone. though it’s a java phone but very difficult and annoying in surfing even on the great browser opera ( its supplied with the phone itself). It doesn’t support google maps either. For internet and other applications based on gprs, it is worst in my opinion!!!For charging and ear phone there is only a common slot (mini usb), so if you want to make hours long talk using ear phone you cant as battery will get exhausted and either you have to talk without ear phone and plug the phone in charging( in this case, obviously phone’s temp will get high!!!) .Many times it turned switch off automatically though battery is full and sometime it asks for power off or on option, mostly at night, I don’t know why.

There are manymore issues, but I mentioned here only those which are most concerned to me.Some features are good also for example auto switch off and auto switch onoption. and one other that it is possible to make a call from any sim wihout switching off and then changing the default sim settings (as in samsung's dual sim phone)This phone has great looks, big screen and smooth key pad.
