The main thing that slows down your internet speed is background running application and the another is add-ons.
These two systems are running on your phone or pc's background if you turn this applications exit. If you want to speed your internet connection simply block those apps who run in background by using background data setting in Android and using Firewall setting in Windows PC.
And don't forget to turn your device power off once a day, this method also kill some running apps from Background.
