I could just sit here and just give you 500 words on how much I love South Park. But as a reviewer I have to convince you that it is good. So here goes. South Park: The Stick of Truth is an RPG game set in the city of South Park. The game looks and feels like the TV show, especially the animation. The Creators of the immensely popular TV show, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, have made the game a truly wonderful experience. It feels like you’re playing an episode of the show. The 11 hour gameplay might not sound like much but it’s fun once you get to know the basics. This game will definitely leave you playing for more than 15 hours.
The story revolves around us, a new kid in South Park, who is pushed into a battle between the Kingdom of Kupa Keep ruled by Cartman and The Elves ruled by Stan and Kyle. The two clans fight for the Stick of Truth a magical artifact that gives unlimited control over the universe to those who possess it.
The game begins by letting you choose 1 of 4 races- Mage, Thief, Fighter and Jew. Each has its own weapons and armor and special abilities.
Mage-"A mage is like a wizard, only not as cool.” A mage is a physically weak class but makes up for the lack of strength with their magical potions and abilities.
Fighter-"A Fighter has courage, honor, and the ability to kick f* a*." Fighters are those who are able to deal huge amounts of melee damage without using magical powers
Thief-"A white Thief? Never heard of one, but interesting." Thieves break past their opponents defence and lower their HP indirectly
Jew- "Jew, huh? So I guess we'll never really be friends." Jews are those who become more powerful the closer they are to death.
The game takes you on some really bizarre and weird stuff such as shrinking down to gnome size while seeing your parents have sex and farting on a Nazi zombie fetus to crawling up a man’s butthole to shut down a nuclear bomb. This game really involves around South Park’s obsession with butts and farting. There are special abilities revolved around farting. Stick of Truth lets you customize your appearance with different armor, weapons and accessories. You can also revive yourself with different potions, snacky treats which all help you win battles.
There are better RPGs out there but you don’t buy Stick of Truth for the RPG factor. You buy it for the South Park-ey ness of it all. Fans of the series will enjoy it a whole lot more than those playing the game without watching the episodes. All in all this is one of my favorite games that I have played and I surely want to play another one of these.
