I had this SONY Vaio FZ25GN which I bought from SONY outlet one year back. Cost me around 70K rupees. The laptop's performance was excellent till 1year after exactly after 2months after the warranty period was over it started showing me different kinds of problems.

Sony laptops in anycase suffer from a Over Heating problem but this time the inbuilt graphics card got corrupted.

Initially I took the laptop to a Sony Service centre suspecting with the above problem but to my dismay the laptop after being retained with them for more than 3weeks and then returned with only doing a OS recovery. This after my constant calling up did not yield any result as these guys never answer phone calls and I had to personally go to the service centre myself.

The laptop was handed over to me saying that there is no charge in the cell and I wont be able to verify the laptop as there is no current available in the service centre. After taking the laptop home I found the same problem occuring i.e. overheating and vertical lines appearing on the screen and the laptop constantly restarting.

I then decided to write an email to their asia pacific headquater with the details, which resulted in the service centre calling me up. Now they have identified that the graphics is faulted and for which the complete mother board has to be replaced which costs around 25K. This has been one experience for me , after buying a Sony Vaio for 70K now I stand with repairing it with another 25K just after 1year. I have decided to never buy a SONY product anymore and keep away from them. They are no only too costly but value for money is horrible.
