I decided to go for a laptop around 2 years ago. 1st self owned laptop. Received demos from almost all the companies. Accidentally visited a sony showroom in Koramangala. The show room is an excellent one with all the features. The sales guy is highly co-operative informed all the features of the laptop. I was impressed and finally zeroed it on SONY VAIO VGN C-25G/B.


I bought a black model VGN C-25 G/B. I was quite impressed about it's keyboard. A perfect fit keyboard for our finger settings. Back up of the battrery is also quite good. We received aound 2 hours 30 mins (Even though it was proposed as 3 Hours) on it's test run. 1 GB RAM was also quite impressive as it was highest amout of RAM available in a single slot at that time.


I was fantasining about the laptop being proud to have a SONY one. Which could easily be compared with an Apple one. However, very soon my day dream ended as the color started fading. I went to the customer care center and they claimed that it's due to poor maintenance system. Being surprised I asked my colleague who also bought a sony one.


After lot of arguments the customer care took it and changed the panel. After few days it's observed that some of the keys are not working properly and the number is increasing. We went together and complained again and they changed it. After few days we noticed that the laptops battery back up is getting reduced day by day and within a span of 8 months of purchasing it started giving a back up of around 1 hour. We again ran and they replaced it.


During an official visit to US, I was out of India for a long time. and during that period I observed that 1 white line is appearing in the LCD monitor. within a span of another month another line appeared just below it and it's permanent one. I called the SONY service center and they said, they have to visit it 1st. When I returned back in India, the warranty period was over and I was asked a hefty amount money. Instead, it's better to buy a new one. Rs.67, 500/- gone in vain within 1 year.The present situation, 1. Many keys of the keyboard stopped working2. DVD + RW drive cant read even a CD3. Battery back up is 10-15 mins4. 3 permanent white line in the LCD monitor.5. Color is faded again6. Mouse is not working properly7. Hard disk sounds like a bullock cart


This is the kind of business SONY is doing. I would recommend not going for SONY-VAIO ever.
