When buying headphones one brand that always comes to mind is a sony, I have used phillips over the ear previously though it sounded great, its quality wasnt upto mark and broke in 2 years time.
I like in ear as well as over the ear, In ear gets used when im on the go and over the ear when im home. Going for over the ear head phones the criterias are usually great sound, good ear cushions not to heavy and for some a single sided cord, and the sony over the ear matched all of it.
Packaging is pretty straight forward nothing to talk about, on wearing them, the cushioning is very comfortable that even after extended hours of usage you feel no discomfort.
Coming to sound quality, I would say its worth for what it costs, has good amount of bass and highs though a little muddy but still good.
Metal and rock sounds superb on these headphones, tracks with bass like trance or hip hop are good not the best you tend to loose some enjoyment due to a muddy bass.
The headphones has a switch to change the sund mode from music to movies to add in some extra bass which is a nice feature.
Only negative is it does not have a detachable cable. The headphones come with an adapter so you can connect it to your laptop/mobile/ipod as well as screw on the adapter and connect it to you stereo/av reciever amp
