The sony a6000 is a good competitor in the mid range dslr segment/ midrange interchangable mirrorless camera segment.
The sony boasts of a smaller body and lightweight which means you do not have to lug your dslr around, just take this light weight cam and go shooting with no quality losses to your image.
My primary use is portraits and motor sports as well as long exposure, when my d750 was in for service I borrowed this from my family member.
My first impression is that its electronic view finder gives you a live representation of how your image would look with all the settings, changes the exposure etc etc great for newbies to get acquainted with the exposure triangle, my gripe with this is in daylight the electronic view finder is hard to see and when shooting burst mode theres lag and you tend to miss some of the action tho its captured.
The af is amazingly fast but lacks in continuous autofocusing. Another issue being the battery which does not last long about 400 shots at the most. And the buffer size which also locks the shutter and waits till it clears out.
