Sony's Trinitron & the Digital Reality Creation' (with super fine pitch in some higher models) has left all other brands sucking their thumbs. Sony has surpassed the best in Direct View (CRT) technology & quality. I have two of the best 29" series of Sony and I can bet my s if anyone of Samsungs, LGs, Videocons, Onidas can even come closer to its precise functionality & picture quality. Standing even a feet away from DRC/Superfine pitch Sony model, you can find the picture as clear as a photograph. It seems like high definition.
Other features like 100Hertz for flicker free viewing/photographing,3D picture noise reduction for reducing background snowniness, Intelligent picture for colour purity, Crispiest sound quality, are genuinely felt differences with the lesser mortals (brands).
If you intend satisfy your soul & get the best out of your hard earned money, just simply stretch your budget and reach any nearest Sony dealer.
The LG slim is the aesthetic advantage, but with the similar budget or a little stretched one, buy a Sony DRC with HD ready. By 2010 probably, we'll be witnessing HD signals and it'll pleasureable to have one 'ready' with you to see it.
CRT technology has nearly reached it's acme, thanks to Sony, and this one is most reliable, rugged & easily repairable one. If any thing goes wrong with Plasma-God can only save you.
