Hi All,

Before writing my experience on using Sony Handycam DCR-HC36 , I would say that this handycam has no added feature than its predecessor DCR-HC32-E. I have been using this handy cam for quite some time now and find it easy to use and comfortable. The very first time I saw some one using handycam (TCR-265 not sure about model number) was my cousin. When I tried using it, I felt as if I was carrying enormous weight and had to use both hands to record movie. With DCR-HC36 , Movie recording has been a pleasure and one doesnot even feel any weight and it easily fits any adult palm. with the LCD menu , it brings easy navigation. Qualityof movie recorded is excellent and not to mention , given this handycam I was able to capture my litle adoring niece's first walking steps she made. I owe it to simply this marvellous piece. In all , I am completely satisfied and would recommend it to any one wishing to use a handycam given they are looking to use same model.

I would like to point out some features that are not available in this model but are available in DCR-HC46 super night shot plus, which enables shooting in dark light and has a provison of attaching a flash gun to the handycam. DCR-HC36 provides night shot plus which also enables to shoot in dark with some light, but quality is not as good as DCR-HC46 .Not to forget more pixels in DCR-HC46 than DCR-HC36 .

Coming to Pros and cons-:

Pros:

1) Ease of use

2) Light in weight

3) Excellent video quality

4) Good battery life

Cons:

1) costly cassette .It costs Rs 220 .

2) Sony has discontinued giving Handycam station and bag with DCR-HC36 that it gave with DCR-HC32-E,but, then it costed Rs 32,000 as to Rs26,000.

3) Writing CD from tape is time consuming and takes around 1 hour to completely write tape to disk.If Tape is saved on Hard Disk, then , a 60 minutes video on tape takes around 16GB of space.Hope SONY takes notice of that and provides easy way to write tape to disk.

In end, If you have made your mind to get an handycam go for DCR-HC36 without any hesitation.
