With Blu ray disc I did enjoy the home theater with the default settings, with speakers on the floor; will update more as I learn more about it and get it installed on the walls; meanwhile I can say, this is the product which technically you would expect from a home theater. For new buyers, please understand this system at the shop, the sony customer care or the online manual is not that clear and also see that your existing TV is compatible with this system IN THE SHOP using your brains, no one else will be useful. Get a feel off the remote control yourself in the shop itself.
Update: 12july2012: With respect to my dream HT, it lacks in 1) No graphic equalizer 2) Can't see the audio level, selected FM channel, selected device and music when the TV is off 3) No good interface with my old LCD for audio from TV to HT 4) No auto scan which discovers all the FM channels in one button press 5) Black color speaker boxes are not a good preference to all, should have had some other colors like white or grey or blue
BUT it meets my dreams with 1) solid woofer 2) crystal clear sound 3) highly directional sound in 5.1 movies, The Pearl harbour bombing BR 4 track was awesome 4) easy to install(even yourself) 5) No need for manual for almost 99% times 6) I guess the remote also should have had some mini lcd screen OR the LCD TV should have had a transparent screen for the HT configuration view.like one appears for the volume level. 7) good installation and configuration service
Its like if you want a good clear sound mobile you buy Nokia or Sony and if you want jazzy features, you buy LG or Samsung
