I ordered a MS Lumia 540(Order ID: 9848151093) from https://snapdeal.com on 4th Nov, 2015. Post delivery, as soon as I opened the box my first impression was - what a cheap build phone! .as I started using it for few hours, I observed multiple issues like call drops, poor sound quality, hanging issues on few Apps and restarts. I thought Snapdeal has shipped a defective item to me so I filed a return request next day morning. The fun begins here - Snap deal turned down the request! They didn’t say this over email, instead had someone calling me to convince and preach me on their Company policies. When I asked to share the policy, they gave me this link(https://snapdeal.com/info/easyReturn) which says:
"Not satisfied with the item quality, size or delivery? Raise a return request within 7 days of item delivery"
Return / Replacement Criteria Eligible You received a faulty/defective item You received a physically damaged item You are unhappy with the item quality The item is different from description on the website There is Size/Fit issue
I read through the info available on the link but no where I found that a phone cannot be replaced / returned; in fact the return criteria says that the faulty and poor quality item will get replaced due to customer satisfaction issues.
I notified them back through email saying the faulty item / poor quality products are covered under replacement Criteria, which policy are you talking about? I again got a call from the same person, this time asking me to take the device to its company service center, get the DOA(dead on arrival) certificate issued and then raise the request again. I asked where is it written in the website and the policy and he was speechless. The gentleman kept repeating about "policies" but God knows where they are! I asked him to send me an email over this but nothing.
I was thinking, while doing transaction with Snapdeal, they never brought company in between, there they say 7 Days TrustPay return but when a return request came these guys are trying every effort to divert customers to such ways that they will end up frustrating and giving up on the request. Is this what they call easy return policy? No questions asked?
I'm sharing experience with others so that they are careful while buying products from Snapdeal.com.
I also appreciate any suggestions / advise that you folks might give to deal with Snapdeal on this issue. Thanks!
