While giving a competitive quote for shifting my household luggage and car from Navi Mumbai to Mohali, Mr. Omen, presumably their manager, lauded his services and promised a lifetime best experience.
It turned out actually a nightmare of 10 days. On 29th Oct., I handed over my car to Sky Home, promised to be transported on a car carrier to Mohali within 6 days, and promised regular updates about its journey. On 30th Oct., their Packers were expected to reach our home at Navi Mumbai at 9 am so as to complete 80% of the packing by the day end and rest 20% on 31st Oct and completing loading and despatch of the truck, latest by 6 pm. As per their above-committed schedule, I earlier booked my flight tickets for 1st Nov from Mumbai to Chandigarh. And now the real trauma starts on the 30th morning.
Nobody turned up till 12noon on 30th, my anxiety levels reached a crescendo and I had to shout at Omen to send labor. Finally, at about 1 pm, 2 Labour's came instead of the promised 6. They worked till 6 pm, could complete only 20% of the packing and forcibly left work, saying a larger team, around 8 laborers will come at 8.30 am tomorrow and shall ensure despatch of the truck, latest by 6 pm. The next day, we all decked up in anticipation but nobody again turned up till 11 am. I and my wife wondered and got extremely worried about how would they complete the entire packing and despatch truck on 31st Oct. I lost my temper and had heated arguments with their supervisor, who in turn informed Mr. Poonia, the owner about it. I even called the manager of another movers & Packers to take over the contract from them. Just in time, their 7/8 Labour's appeared with packing material and Mr. Poonia started supervising packing and loading himself thereupon. Under time pressure, the quality of packing suffered miserably. Laborers who came were novices for the task and before our own eyes, we could clearly foresee that it could turn out to be the most damaging shifting in our lifetime. We have done shifting earlier about 10 times. Finally, at around 12 midnight, the truck got loaded and left our premises, promising to touch Mohali in max 4 days I.e by 4th Nov. As were extremely tired by that time, I got my flight tickets deferred by a day.
The next day on 1st Nov, I visited their office at Belapur at about 1 pm and to my utter dismay, found my car (Handed over on 29th Oct) and household luggage still parked there. When would it reach Mohali, I pleaded before Mr. Poonia. False assurances followed from him, I had to believe him as I didn't have any other choice and with heavy heart, I left his office. On the 2nd, we flew down to Chandigarh, expecting our car and luggage to reach us by the 4th. Every time I enquired, false updates were given. When forced to share GPS updates about the movement of both the trucks, it has shown different routes being followed and giving scant respect to promises made, adding woes to our agony. Finally, I received a truck of household items on 6th Nov, with damages to many items. He asked me to complete the payment to 100% before the car is delivered. I resisted and Sky Home Movers delayed its delivery. Out of sheer exploitation and in my anxiety to get my car back asap, I gave in and completed payment 100% on the 7th evening. Got the car on the 8th evening, 4 days behind schedule, and having to forego any compensation against breakage of my household items. I never felt so much cheated and exploited than this experience with Sky Home Movers & Packers hence this review. Even if they give free service, please don't award the contract of shifting luggage or car to them ever.
