‘Welcome – To Anees Bazmi’s new adventure. Though of course
the film really fails to take off at
all.
The film starts off a la James Bond style, with Sonu Sood aka
KING doing a crazy stunt. But if u think this is crazy – a later stunt on a
water ski will leave u breathless.
This is a story of a Happy – Go get Lucky guy from Australia.
Whoops – Did I give away the story in the statement there?
Anyways – This is a journey about Happy Singh who travels to
Australia,
to get his wayward bro( Underworld don) back to home town. Along the way he
meets up with a gorgeous gal, who of course has to have a boyfriend. Etc.etc the usual stuff
Anyways Happy Singh manages to turn around his goony friends
into human beings again, after a few hackneyed scenarios. And the best part is
he gets the Aussie Cops to also let Don and pals go away peacefully to India( sab
maaf kar ditta) .
Along the way, Anees throws in a punchy fight scene, where
Akki and girl n boyfriend are out for a wedding shopping trip. The Punch here
being that they leave their house in Australia,
Enter Raghuleela Shopping Mall( The theater in the mall where I watched the
movie), and chases the chopper in Australia once again. Wow! Now that
sure is super speedy action.
Having seen this scene, the next scene looked very
believable, when Akki takes his water ski to go straight into a chopper, and
knock the gun toting baddie into the water. All in a day’s work, huh?
But that apart, the film pops from one scene to another with
a few unwanted songs thrown in. Unwanted as in with Jarring effects, Of course
u can always close your eyes and wish the song away. The title song is ok.
There is a little humor thrown in as well – akki style, though
of course sonu provides a few giggles somewhere – at least I heard a few
giggles, when he gave the ‘moving’ performance in the scene where all the goons
discuss Akki’s love interest.
Eventually all’s well that ends well, and the film happily
comes to an end.
Watch it if u have nothing better to do.
