We went to shivpuri in ending of march; we were 3 friends but were clubbed in university trip of almost 90 people. Shivpuri is there at a drive of almost 15 kms from rishikesh uphill. For rejuvenating and getting away from city life people go to many places in India like kasol, lonavala, jim corbett park etc; but as per my experience shivpuri is really worth to visit. One can't see that much pure water of ganges at any place in india. Camps are there at almost a distance only 20 meters from ganges hence one can enjoy the river bath hugely. There are lot of options for camps over there. In evening you can enjoy bonfire and some music. Camps are really good and gives a very adventurous experience. Trekking is another activity that can be done but the best part is RAFTING which can give you an experience of lifetime; one should not miss cliff jumping. I will suggest to go there in a group of at least 4 persons. Once you visit there and spend some time; you will come to realize that how important it is to cut away from city life sometimes.
