I have been using RGP contact lenses over the last 27 years. I was in the process of changing my contacts due to minor changes in the power. After visiting 3 clinics, I have just stumbled on Dr.Shinde's Clinic on New BEL Road.
+Ves:
Ambiance: spartan, but clean, well maintained, sufficient space in the refraction room ably equipped with latest gadgetry and tools to assist the Optometrist
Front Office: responsive, consistent and no errors in the billing/appointments
Staff: First I was attended by two junior optometrists( perhaps under the apprenticeship with Dr.Shinde with about 24yrs of experience), initial readings have been taken and by then Dr.Shinde has stepped in to take over the case completely.
This review is perhaps more about Dr.Shinde than with the clinic per se.
He is diligent in his practice, with acute attention to detail covering various facets of the refraction, comfort, fitment, overall visual acuity.
He is proactive in eliciting the needs, requirements, current issue and also to fully understand them to provide a right fit from his personal professional judgement perspective.
He is truly a warm gentleman endowed with exceptional professionalism in providing the advise, right set of lenses( though I need to try and experience the new lenses) and proactively to invite for a followup after one month.
Staff at clinic are also very proactive in informing about the status of the lenses, redirecting the patient to the right clinic( initially I have made a call to their RT nagar branch to be directed to New BEL Road for RGP lenses).
Well, on the cost front I felt it is definitely a bit costly for a pair of lenses at Rs.4800/. But doctor has informed and ensured that should there be any changes that are required, will be attended without any further charges.
Overall: one of the best optometrist in Bangalore and in profession perhaps( based on my limited experience of wearing the lenses for about 27 years). Comforting factor is Doc has been trained at Sankara Netralaya and has been not only practising the profession but also teaching at leading Optometric schools.
I would definitely recommend him for refraction, lenses, contacts and any visual problems.
