This movie is all about the trappings of power. How, politicians compromise their values & relationships just to get the desired position or monetary gains.

Raveena Tandon plays the role of a woman thrown into the murky world of politics by circumstances. She marries the son of a politician by falling in love at first sight. Later, she regrets this after seeing the double standards at her in-law's house.

Due to a murder, her husband is jailed & her in-laws request her to stand for elections in his place. After a lot of convincing by her mother & her in-laws, she agrees to join politics. First person she meets is Atul Kulkarniwho has powerful position in the party hierarchy.

The rest of the film is devoted to the story of how Raveena manages to use the lessons learnt in politics to her advantage. Madhur Bandarkar has woven an excellent story in ''Satta''. Atul Kulkarni gives an excellent performance as the soft-speaking politician.

But the sheet-anchor of this film is undoubtedly Raveena Tandon. As the hesitant housewife in the beginning of this movie or as the savvy politician in the later half of this film, she excels in her portrayal.
