This album starts out with the quick track Set It Off, which really sets the mood for the CD. I really like this song and the next song is one of my favorites. Alive. It is probably the best song by POD and I first heard it on a really old show of Billboard US Countdown. This song is also quite a lot of fun to play on the guitar, especially if you have an electric with nice distortion (check out da tabs at mxtabs.net).
Next, is my favorite song by POD - BOOM! The tune and beat is really catchy, as is the chorus - ''Boom! Here comes the...Boom! Ready or not? Here comes the boys from the south!''. POD is essentially a rap-metal outfit but they are able to perform more successfully than their competitors.
After that is Youth of the Nation, which is one of POD's most popular songs (although I didn't find it that special). This is a good slowish song and has a great drum beat. However, there are only about 3 more songs to watch out for - Satellite (Track 6) which also combines great guitar riffs with vocals and Ridiculous (Track 7) which sounds good because it sounds ridiculous. Unfortunately, then comes a group of songs that I have never managed to listen.
The album finishes off neatly with Portrait (Grammy nominee for best metal song) which is quite a good cover for the whole album. The only problem with this is probably the lack of good songs throughout the album. However, the quality of the songs still ranks it higher than other rap-metal outfits.
