Enjoy Monsoon Holiday at Satara. Review on Satara

Attractions: Fort, Waterfall, Flower Bed, Boating at Kas Lake and Natural beauties.

Place: Around Satara and Bamnoli - Kas Lake.

Distance: 110 Kilometers from Pune

Duration: 2 days and 1 night.

Satara district is famous for its natural freshness and scenic beauty. It is mostly untouched place by Tourist. The Natural beauty and landscape around Satara is even better than Mahabaleswar. Like when we go towards Kas Lake which is around 25 K.M from Satara Bus stand, you will find natural points and beauty where one can say it is heaven that has come to earth.

We started from Pune at Morning 7.00 am with our ALTO car and reached Satara at 8.30 am and checked into hotel. Then after freshning up and breakfast we choose to go towards the Sajjangad track where you find all the below places one after another. All in same route

1.  Sajjangad Fort(Sri Ramdas Swami) 12 K.M

2.  Kas Dam 28 K.M

3.  Thoseghar(Water fall) 36 K.M

4.  Chalkewadi(Wind Energy Proj) 40 K.M

Back to hotel at 4.00 p.m and after taking rest and tea we planed for evening sight seeing which is in Satara city. Below are the places:-

1.  Ajinkyatara Fort

2.  Char Bhinti Hutatma

3.  Smarak Natraj Mandir

And after visiting these 3 places we reached hotel at 8.00 p.m and got tired and took rest for 1 hrs and finally we went for dinner at near by restaurant. Had our dinner and back to hotel at 10.30 p.m and went for sleep.

Next day morning we got up at 7.00 a.m and after having breakfast we made ready for second day trip towards Bamnoli. This Route goes towards well known Kas lake and Bamnoli on the shores of the Shivsagar i.e. the Koyna Lake.

While going towards Kas lake you will find the plateaus of flower, which generally I saw in TV at Switzerland etc. Here we got down from our Car and enjoyed Natural beauty. Even some places clouds touched us with drizzling water. These places are really untouched by tourist and hardly known by peoples. I can say even better than Mahabaleswar and all places are neat and clean. At Bamnoli we enjoyed ferry ride to Tapola(Mahabaleswar) which took 1 hour to reach. At Tapola we have done scooter boat riding too and finally came back. After having the sight seeing and done lots of photography finally we finished up by 4.00 p.m and start moving towards Pune. During our journey back to Pune we halted many places and enjoyed the sight seeing and beauty of Nature and finally reached home at 7.30 p.m.

Getting there:

ST and private buses ply frequently from Mumbai and Pune to Satara. All hotels are near by ST Bus stand only. Lodges and Medium budget hotels are easily available there. Quiet economy and nice restaurant are around there to have food of your choice. The best way is by your own vehicle, as there are lots of place which you need to see and also many places where you need to explore.
