How annoying can a film get, well ask Sajid Khan maybe, but his movies are supposed to be annoying anyways. But when one of the favorite punjabi characters of your childhood gets destroyed in the name of making a movie then it really gets on your nerves. I went to watch this considering that it would be a good if not great take on the affable characters, came back utterly dejected
The movie starts by introducing two friends Santeshwar Singh Solad(Santa played by Boman Irani) anf Banteshwar Singh Bolad(Banta played by Vir Das) in Punjab when the high commissioner of Fiji is kidnapped. This causes an uproar in the government and who do they send to investigate, the affable duo Santa and Banta. Now you can just make up the story from here, don't whatever you'll be making up will be far better than the actual script.
The script falls flat right from the start, and you can see the audience sleeping in the corners as if they have paid to stay some time out of the sweltering heat this summer. The 2 hours in the theater seems like centuries as you expect the movie to get over and come out of the hell hole. The music is nothing home to write about and there is hardly any memorable songs either. Neha Dhupia and Lisa Haydon acts just as arm candies and Johny Lever has sunken to new lows of his career.
One of the worst movies of the year no doubt. Also destroyed Boman and Vir Das for me.
