I bought this TV after going thru various reviews of TVs on Mouthshut. I chose this since I felt that this was a TV that was good in quality while still not so popular (and therefore would run a number of promos). Anyway, I purchased this from Viveks during their annual new year sale. The price was 11,500 or so.

The television is excellent on three fronts

  • Looks

  • Colour rendering

  • Sound - the sound is clear even at high volumes

There were some problems that I faced with the remote and had to spend on it and the one component gave way during an electricity spike (it should not have considering that I have a good quality stabilizer). The service people who came in were competent and responded quickly. They also offered a 1k warranty upgrade (I have a guarantee for five years now) for FIVE years. Which means they are REALLY confident of their product.

One major concern with the TV (am not sure if the problem is with the telecast or my TV) is that rectangular objects seem to be distorted (curved) when viewed on this screen. I particularly face this problem while watching NDTV.

Otherwise a good, reliable product.

Thought I would put in these comments since I could actually be doing a disservice to the TV by those comments on ''distorted'' images. I thought I would describe it more objectively. You typically have a many rectangular objects in a studio setting (doors, windows, news blocks, studio's video screens etc) - These seemed to be SLIGHTLY curved when viewed on my TV - Well I decided to check other TVs for the same and could not come to a conclusion since these objects were typically blurred. I guess that clarifies the situation :-)
