Sanjeev Kapoor ke kitchen khiladi is one of the best serials going around in town. Bugged of Ekta Kapoor serials and same old repetitive stories. I rather switch to something that is more meaningful and worth watching.
The best part about watching Sanjeev Kapoor ke kitchen khiladi is that even my mom loves watching this serial come cooking show. Atleast we learn something new everyday by watching this serial and as I am from hotel management background, this serial attracts me even more.
One thing that is commendable about this show is that this show is very helpful, especially for people like me. It helps every house wife in some way or the other. Many chefs of various cuisines come here and guide us on how to create good yummy dishes. Watching daily soap serials just waste our time with twist and turns and unexpected stories leading us no where.
Before Sanjeev Kapoor ke kitchen khiladi serial my mom used to view different serials on Sab TV and Zee TV, but nowadays we both watch this serial cum cooking show and give in our inputs.
The host is Sanjeev Kapoor himself, and no one doubts his skills of hosting a cooking show. He is very confident and calm while he hosts the show. Does not impose any pressure on himself. Although the show isn't real time recording still he seems firm and solid. The way he handles the contestants and the other chefs is really commendable and he creates a good suspense while rating the dishes.
The show is all about war between two group, ie one group is the contestant and the other group are chefs that are very well known in India. One of the chefs out of them is my favorite and is my idol, chef Harpal. He prepare dishes with ease and in a calm manner. He enjoys every moment while making his dish.
He himself had his show on food food channel but unfortunately we haven't subscribed for food food channel. So I do follow him on this show.
Coming to the point, these groups prepare the same dishes in their own style and at the end Sanjeev Kapoor rates the dishes and declares the winner with a small recognition.
There isn't any audience participation as the entire show is based on the 3 mentioned parties ie the host(Sanjeev Kapoor). Sanjeev Kapoor ke kitchen khiladi(contestants) and the challengers(master chefs). But we as audience profit a lot from this show. The slight glitches that we make while preparing food can be overcomed by viewing this show. Now the food that I create using my hotel managements skills and with the help of this show tastes even more yum.
I've started using more spices after watching this show. The show focuses mainly on the desi style food, and the importance of spices is stressed in this show.
There isn't much camera effects in this show. But the transition shown is very smooth and friendly.
Few pros:
Certainly helps the house wives and people like me and does not take much time too!
Isn't much addictive and a few shows can be skipped if busy. Normally daily soap serials if skipped even for a day, can put oneself off the track.
Everyday there is something new to be learnt.
Many chefs are invited and we come to know the different ways in which a dish can be prepared by different chefs of different specialty, ie a Chinese cuisine chefs prepares a North Indian dish and so on.
Few cons:
Too many ads interrupting, especially at crucial moments.
Many a times master chefs wins the battle against contestants. This seems to be a bit odd to me, but anything seems good enough for my mom. She enjoys the show like no other serial.
One thing that is very good about the show is that it is very systematic and everything is in perfect order.
We can even find the missed serial from Sony website.
A thumbs up to this show!
