Sai Krupa restaurant is situated near Talaopali in Thane. Talaopali is the place where people of Thane come to chill out and for recreation. The hotel should have done a fabulous business being situated in such a prime locality, right ?Sadly people avoid this place. Read on to find out why.
We entered Sai Krupa restaurant at about 4 p.m. yesterday. First there was no one to take our order.We were looking at the waiters with expectation everytime we saw one. Finally at about 4:10 pm we managed to place our order. We ordered Masala Dosa and Veg Pattice. Till 4:25 p.m. there was no sign of food. Again we started staring at the waiter with expectation everytime he appeared with some dishes on his tray.
Finally at 4:35 p.m. the waiter came with my Masala Dosa and a plate of Veg Fried Rice. My friend said he wanted Veg Pattice and why he had bought Fried Rice ? Anyways we were too hungry to argue further and started eating the stuff he had bought. Masala Dosa was ok but the oil was not of a very good quality.After Dosa I ordered Lemonade. As I took a sip of the drink through the straw I could smell the staw having the same smell as that of the waiter's hair oil. I threw away the straw and finished the drink.
My friend was more unluckier than me. Firstly he had to settle for an item he did not order. As he was merrily munching on his fried rice suddenly he let out a cry of pain. A small piece of stone had found its way in the Veg Fried Rice. The stone had been smashed by the impact of the teeth's chewing action and mixed up with the morsel. My friend had to spit out the morsel.In addition he started getting pain on that side of the mouth where he was chewing.
We bought this to the notice of the waiter and he said non chalantly '' Kabhie aa jata hai , kya karega '' ? ( the stone is present sometimes , what to do ? ) We looked at each other with shock at this attitude of the waiter.
My friend decided to finish of the remaining rice which was about two table spoons. He was chewing from the other side of his mouth very gingerly. Suddenly he let out another cry of pain. This time I knew what it was for.Another stone. My friend is very calm and sober by nature but now he was screaming at the top of his voice. He developed pains on both the sides of his jaws courtesy of the Veg Fried Rice which he hadn't even ordered.
Apart from the stones , the taste of the Fried Rice was anything but Chinese. Veg Fried Rice is priced at 46 Rs.You can get a better stuff than that at any of the roadside Chinese stalls at half the price. When the waiter brought us the bill we asked him if the cost of stones was included in the bill.
We went to complain at the cash counter but the guy there said he was not the manager and could do nothing about it. He refunded us 20 Rs from our total bill amount.
I was lucky that I did not accept the offer of my friend to share his Fried Rice , else I would have been clutching my jaw by now instead of writing this review.
