My life as a MBA student is about to end in exact 1 month. And I belong to the lucky few in my insti to have gotten placed in the placement week and that too with a good package. So wat the heck - I can afford to celebrate. That's how I landed up at Sahib Sindh Sultan on sat - 7th march with my 2 friends.
My last visit was almost 2 years back and the place has really not chnaged much in 2 years(except prices ofcourse) We had a prior reservation but I was suprised to find on a sat afternoon, it was less than half occupied. This would have never happened before. so recession was indeed showing its effects.
The service like usual is extremely cordial. We started our session with 1 Mojito, 1 Pepsi & 1 fresh lime soda(yes they are unncessarily expensive). We tried Fish Tikka ala Lord Rippon, Biriyani, Murgh Makahani & Rehmi Murgh Tikka. The fish item was definitely the best among all these(Bengalis are naturally inclined towards fish items:) And yes the money was worth it. Eventhough we hadn't planned to have desserts, we went for it - A kulfi, a dry fruit & nut ice cream and 1Martini. A perfect finish to a great experience(Trust my facebook pictures for the expressions)
Sahib Sindh Sultan is not a regular restaurant. It is an experience in itself. If you are one who is very particular about value for money, this is not the place to be. This place is a once a month or 3 weeks affair for those who can afford it or who wouldn't mind spending on food(foodies like us). Most of the items are available at other Indian restaurants at a lesser price. We shelled out 2, 500+ on a meal for 3( including drinks) but we loved the 2 and half hours we sat there.
Quite a nice place to take out your wife/ gf on a special day or your parents to give that special suprise. Trust me, they would enjoy it. There's something very earthly yet extraordinary about this place. Just wish they come up with more variety of food items in the future.
