summaryA young woman laxmi receives a head injury in an car accident and is hospitalized in a critical state, in a coma .After a few days when she regains conciousness, she is unable to recollect anything, and behaves like a six year old child. She runs away, and ends up in a brothel and is saved by a kind hearted teacher somu (played by Kamal Hasan) who takes her to his place in order to protect her, he does evrything possible to make her happy, best part is he even gives a designer lookz 2 her hair(kiddin) but realli he ties very nic plaits especially d lower part of her hair...hehhe. He sings lallabys (lori) for her. Eventually the teacher falls in love with Sridevi, she regains her memory up until the time of her accident and has no recollection of the teacher or his kindness...''Sadma''means shock

d movie ends in a very tragic way....Kamal Haasan’s desperate antics to help rekindle Sridevi’s memory as he runs down the platform, even as she, cured of her amnesia, happily ignores him, with the train taking her away from Kamaal’s life forever.The last scene of Kamal Hassan at the railway station, trying to remind Sridevi of their time together, was simply heartbreaking and un-bearable.

well.... d movie is welll made and senti, bet u will cry....( ane 1 interested in dis challenge ) itz a fun muvee.. but jus d end is tragic u would pity somu specially d last scene, n I lik touchy muvees, even the songs are very nic.. acting superb by both the lead actors n ya itz not lik regular hindi muvees wid unreal ending ... happy ending sort of muvee

my take..... many bollywood movies are being remade ... n may b even sadma should be, may be or may be not... may be itz a bad idea coz aaj kal ke actorz wont do justice to laxmi n somu.
