Disappointing...I would say. With this all my hopes with SLB have been ended. This is the third time I beer with him and again it proved to b a disaster. SLB is continuously degrading himself. he has fallen in love with the landscapes....he should switch his carieer to painting now...
Let's come to the point. I was very exited about this much hyped movie only because of SLB as I still had belief in him, though I was greatly disappointed with his last two ventures, Devdas and Black. Sharatchandra would have sued SLB for insulting his emotions by making such film on his story, if he was alive. No doubt, the sets were splendid but the soul is missing...SLB missed the emotion which Sarat babu wanted to convey. In addition to that Shahrukh's irritating overact, Aishwarya's plastic emotions made it worse. The Good things are Madhuri and the Music obviously. SLB must be praised for his music sense.
This is the area in which he never failed. He has fetched best from all music directors with whom he has worked. After Devdas, there was Black....the film reflects the intention for which it has been made. If a film is just made as a bussiness comodity or as an art or being concious for awards....it reflects the motive and this one shows that SLB's main aim was to get so many awards and so he again missed it...he couldnt concentrate on the script much...now he is more into showing-off.. and Amitabh Bachchan has played the role as if he knows that he is Amitabh Bachchan...he has got shahrukh's weekness who always look like shahrukh khan, whatever is the character of the movie and this is a big failure for an actor. Amitji overacted and became sooo loud in this movie.
Anyways...about Sawariya, it's all applicable whatever I have told till now. full concentration on sets and look of movie with zero effort for the soul. it's a beautifull paiting but a boring film. It doesnt leavea tiny spot on your mind. Ranbir and Sonam tried their best as newcomers except that Sonam's laugh irritates. the failuer of movie is solely SLB's responsibility.
Music....what to say about it...Monty is outstanding. He has created magic and the songs reflect his hard work. Eager to hear more from him. He seems one of the few music directors who knows music...
All in all SLB's best is still Khamoshi and after that Hum dil de chuke sanam...after these two he lost his roots...Please come back SLB...because you have that extraordinary talent...show it again...
