Guys I feel that one should not keep writing reviews for the heck of it, and till date I havent done so, but, for once I just want to violate my self imposed rule, and my belief. I just wanted to have a review on this movie in my quiver.

I was very skeptical going to watch this movie even though I had been listening to the music since long merely because you know as things are here, pretty deceptive. I had watched many a movies with good music but nothing else at all. However I went to see it only on insistance of my beloved, and by golly, did I enjoy it. To say that I liked it would be an understatement. It was awsome, majestic. Never before simplicity was so glamorous and endurance so personified.

The story begins when Aditya(Vivek) discovers Suhani(Rani) at a wedding ceremony and takes a liking for her. He is a stud with no tensions in life as his father is well off. But Rani wants to be a doctor and has no time for pettie things like love in her life. But as has been said, we cannot plan falling in love, we just fall in love. So after a lot of no nos and yes yes from the girl and the boy they realise that living seperately is not possible anymore. So they decide to elope and then when everyone finds out about it they go ballistic. What really stood out was that there was none of the usual beaten tracks of roona and dhoona by the girls's father, no screaming, nothing at all. Instead the Rani'a father just slaps Vivek when he meets him to show that he doesnot approve of what they ahve done.

So they both leave their houses and begin a dream they call married life, only to find out that love alone cannot sustain a relationship. A lot more is needed to make things like marriage work. And as time goes on they find their marriage going like most love marriages go---nowhere but down.

The scenes have to be seen to be believed, simply and truly awsome and amazing. it takes a lot of vision and grasp of the subject to direct like that and the director shows that he has loads of it. Such scripts need sensitive handling and this movie has been directed in the most apt way.

But, this movie could not have been the same without the music it had to accompany the divine https://lyrics. A R Rahman has proved time and again that he is a genius and that rubs of on the film too. About Gulzar saab, well what do I say. He is a master of his craft and more than that.

And to me the life and soul of this film was Rani Mukherjee. Superb is the word for her. Vivek too was good but she was leagues ahead. Hope to see many more performances like this from her......
